And something new…

Friday night, and I’m nursing the remnants of a cold. I blame the kids. But at least I feel like I’m on the upswing. The flu hit our house pretty hard over the past few weeks. All the kids missed some school at one point or another. I hope your house fared better than ours. And with it being an early night for me, I’ll keep this post short and to the point. Here we go… We’ve implemented some new features in our office. Mainly concerning appointment reminders. We began this week to send out appointment reminders via text message and ... Read More

New Year’s Resolutions…

We’re a week into the New Year. I hope everyone out there had a great New Year’s Eve, and that 2015 is off to the start you had hoped and planned for. And speaking of hoping and planning, did anyone out there make any New Year’s resolutions? I think it’s human nature to look to the future when we close the book on the previous year. Most of us are nostalgic in some way, I know I am. And when we’re fondly remembering yesterday how often do you say to yourself, “I could do better with that” ? So, what ... Read More

It’s the same thing over and over…

This past week in the office I’ve seen a lot of patients that I haven’t seen in a while. They come in with various complaints and ailments, but the vast majority are lower back related. More specifically, the lower back symptoms have been caused by holiday decorating, wrapping presents, travel, and all the other activities this time of year brings. We seem to do this to ourselves during this time of year. We tend to travel to visit family and friends. We decorate our homes. We spend hours leaning over boxes and meticulously placing time along the seams of wrapping paper. ... Read More

I have every excuse in the book…

Well, it’s been a month. A month since I’ve posted a blog. I had good intentions. My plan was to post a blog a week. But you know what they say about the best laid plans. And if you don’t, it’s something like this: “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” So, what’s my excuse? I’ve got a ton of them. It’s the busy season in the office, kids activities got in the way, Amy and I moved, the holiday season got in the way. I could list more, but what’s the point?Everyone has excuses when things ... Running at night? Where’s your night gear?

Amy and I went out to the local Pub Run put on by The Foot Landing last night.  Joannie was there too (is that 2 weeks in a row?). This is a weekly run every Wednesday at 6:30 pm. It’s a good time, and generally draws around 100 people. It’s fun to meet new runners, and the atmosphere is always positive. Plus, it ends each week at a local pub, and what could be better than that? If you haven’t been out to join the group, I encourgage you to come. All ability levels are welcome, from walkers to runners. ... Read More

How I ended up in Florida (this one’s for you, Todd Tullis)…

At the end of my college swimming career at Kentucky I had to decide what I wanted to do. Graduate school? Find a job? I wanted to go into healthcare, but wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. There’s a longer story involved here, but I ended up going to chiropractic school at Logan College of Chiropractic, just outside of St. Louis. I moved there in May 2000 and started school. With about a year left in school I had decided I was entirely sick of cold weather. I had lived in Wisconsin during my younger years, which was cold. St. ... Read More
